The UCSF Academic Senate is happy to announce the faculty selected by peers as the 2023 Distinction in Teaching and Distinction in Mentoring Award winners.

The Spring 2023 recipient of the Academic Senate Distinction In Mentoring Award for faculty at the rank of Associate Professor is Jennifer C. Lai, MD, MBA, an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the School of Medicine. She serves as Director of UCSF Health Advancing Research in Clinical Hepatology (ARCH) and Director of the Patient-Facing Research Core of the NIH-funded UCSF Liver Center. Dr. Lai also serves as an Associate Editor for the Hepatology Journal and as a standing member of the U.S. FDA Gastrointestinal Drug Advisory Committee. Dr. Lai is based at the UCSF Parnassus campus.

The review committee also chose Andrea V. Jackson, MD, MAS, an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at the School of Medicine, as the Spring 2023 recipient of the Academic Senate Distinction In Mentoring Award.

An event to recognize their efforts will be held on Monday, May 15th, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Parnassus Campus, room N-225 and broadcasted on Zoom. We hope to see you there in person, but if you are unable to be there in person, the Zoom link is provided below.
