Our research program in MASLD (formerly referred to as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease) focuses on defining “sarcopenic obesity” through deep characterization of body composition as well as quantification of the relationship between sarcopenic obesity and liver-related outcomes in patients with MASLD. In collaboration with the UCSF Fatty Liver Cohort (FALCon), we have established a comprehensive biorepository along with a trove of clinical data and patient-reported outcome metrics.
